THE POSITION:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Accounting Curriculum. He / She will teach, assess students’ work and guide them towards achieving appropriate qualifications according to the Cambridge IGCSE/A-level syllabus or other syllabus agreed with the school.

PRIMARY ROLE:

Responsible for:

  • Teaching students about the field of accounting which may cover topics such as financial reporting, auditing standards, or other related subjects.
  • Providing individualized instruction to students who are struggling with material or whose needs are not being met by the standard curriculum.
  • Creating lesson plans and maintaining records of student progress on academic projects.
  • Assisting in the development of new programs, curricula, and materials based on changing education requirements.
  • Assigning homework and grading tests, quizzes, and other assessments.
  • Preparing reports, summarizing students’ progress and evaluating their performance.
  • Developing lesson plans based on state and national standards for educational content.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Requirements

  • A Chartered accountant with at least three years teaching experience with the IGCSE/A-Level Curriculum.
  • Must have a Bachelor of Education, Accounting option.
  • Must be well versed in the teaching of the subject.
  • Must be able to inspire, motivate and challenge students.
  • Must be able to plan and teach well-structured lessons which achieve outcomes which are at least good and are often outstanding.
  • Must be able to work closely with a team of teaching colleagues in your department to prepare, resource and teach your subject.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues showing respect for others and professionalism at all times
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
