Students Showcase Innovation at Inaugural TechVation Exhibition
Across our campuses, our school community gathered to witness the grand exhibition of our inaugural Technology and Innovation Challenge, widely known as TechVation.
Launched at the start of the year, TechVation invited students from Preschool through to High School to identify real-world problems and develop creative solutions across eight thematic areas: Arts Innovation, Fashion and Design, Technology and Design, Digital Solutions and Coding, Environmental Innovation, Creativity Through Practical Problem Solving, Engineering Prototype, and Robotics.
Guided by their teachers over the past several weeks, students researched, designed, prototyped, and built. The results were on full display across several project booths set up across our campuses, where students confidently presented their work to teachers, peers, and visiting parents.
Among the standout projects were a biometric locker system designed to eliminate the problem of misplaced keys, a mood-based QR code booking system to help community members schedule appointments with school counsellors, a lunch ordering app, and a recycled desk — a nod to sustainability and resourcefulness. Efficiency and learning were also at the forefront, with a Digital Library and Class Attendance App streamlining daily school life, while a sensor-activated bin, Plates Collector, and Motion Sensor Lighting System addressed hygiene and energy conservation. Students also tackled safety and well-being through a Device Tracker, Lost and Found App, Parental Monitoring App, and Anti-Bullying App, alongside a Soil Moisture Detector supporting agriculture, and creative sustainable fashion pieces — including a sweater and dresses crafted from disposable waste.
Parents who attended were impressed, not only by the quality of the projects, but by how articulately students explained their ideas and the thinking behind them.
Innovation, it turns out, begins with curiosity and grows through collaboration — and that was evident in every booth.
The event reflects the school’s commitment to experiential, future-focused learning — equipping students with the problem-solving mindset, teamwork, and technical skills they will carry well beyond the classroom. The school has already indicated plans to integrate select student projects into its own systems and to make TechVation an annual tradition.
It was, by any measure, a proud day for our school community.
