Turning Empathy into Action: 2nd Place – KATF Good Citizen Challenge ’25
Driven by empathy, one of our core values, our Upper Secondary learners, led by the Round Square Executives, identified a pressing challenge facing Semenhyiakrom D/A Basic School: limited access to clean and safe water. What began as concern quickly grew into a clear sense of purpose.
Through creative fundraising initiatives and dedicated teamwork, our students successfully implemented a water project to address this need. We are proud to share that a fully functional borehole water system has now been commissioned and officially handed over to Semenhyiakrom D/A Basic School, providing the community with reliable access to clean water.
This impactful initiative did not go unnoticed. The project earned recognition from the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation (KATF), securing 2nd Place in the KATF Good Citizen Challenge 25, a testament to the power of student leadership and service-driven action.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation for acknowledging our students’ commitment to making a difference. We are equally grateful to our parents and the entire ICS community for their unwavering support, which made this meaningful project possible.
Together, we continue to turn empathy into action and inspire positive change beyond our campus.
