Preschool Marks 100 Days in School

 In News

Today marks 100 days in school for our preschoolers, and what a joyful and meaningful journey it has been. Reaching the 100th day is a special milestone in our preschool calendar, not simply because of the number, but because of all it represents. It is a celebration of perseverance, discovery, confidence, and growth. In 100 days, our young learners have built friendships, developed new skills, explored big ideas, and taken important steps in their academic and social development.

For children at this stage, 100 days makes learning visible. It helps them understand time and number sense in ways that are practical and exciting. Counting to 100, grouping objects, recognising patterns, and sorting items strengthen their early mathematical foundations. More importantly, this milestone encourages reflection. Even our youngest learners are beginning to see how much they have grown and how their daily efforts add up to something significant.

Our celebration was vibrant, creative, and filled with pride. The classrooms came alive with collections of 100 items carefully prepared by our learners and their families—beads, buttons, bottle tops, pegs, stickers, blocks, spoons, and many other treasures. As the children counted, sorted, grouped in tens, and explained their displays, they were strengthening key developmental skills such as one-to-one correspondence, estimation, fine motor coordination, and confident communication. The excitement was unmistakable. There was laughter, music, art centred around the number 100, interactive counting games, and meaningful reflection during circle time as children shared what they enjoy most about school.

The 100th day also gave us, as a preschool team, an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable growth we have witnessed. Academically, we see stronger number recognition, improved counting and early writing skills, richer vocabulary, and greater focus during structured tasks. Socially and emotionally, friendships have blossomed. Our learners are sharing more willingly, taking turns, resolving small conflicts with guidance, and becoming increasingly independent in classroom routines. Creatively, their drawings are more detailed, their ideas more expressive, and their confidence in presenting their work continues to grow.

Perhaps the most beautiful transformation is in their confidence. Children who once arrived shy or uncertain now walk into school with joy and assurance. They participate eagerly, volunteer answers, and demonstrate emerging leadership within their groups. These changes remind us that with consistency, encouragement, and a nurturing environment, every child truly can blossom.

We are deeply grateful to our parents for their unwavering support. Your partnership, especially in preparing the 100-item collections and encouraging learning at home, reinforces the powerful connection between home and school. When we work together, our children thrive.

As we move beyond this milestone, we remain committed to nurturing curious minds, confident learners, and compassionate hearts. If the first 100 days are any indication, the journey ahead promises even more discovery, growth, and joyful learning experiences.
