ICS Launches the TechVation Challenge: Invent. Inspire. Make an Impact.

 In News, STEM

In line with our theme for the 2025/2026 academic year, Being Future Ready: Enabling Success for All Through Technology and Innovation, International Community School (ICS) is thrilled to announce the launch of our flagship Term Two programme, the Technology and Innovation Challenge (Tech Vation Challenge ).

The TechVation Challenge is designed to inspire our learners to think creatively, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and apply technology across all academic levels. It provides a dynamic platform where students can experiment, innovate, and transform their ideas into tangible solutions, reflecting ICS’s commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders.

This year, the challenge takes on the theme “Invent, Inspire, Impact”. Each school level will explore sub-themes tailored to their developmental abilities. Prep School students will focus on simple inventions, recycled-material models, and basic coding using Scratch. Lower Secondary students will tackle intermediate robotics, practical problem-solving, app concepts, and introductory engineering ideas. Upper Secondary students will engage in advanced prototypes, complex coding projects, digital solutions, engineering innovations, and research-backed developments.

Through the TechVation Challenge, students are encouraged to explore the power of design thinking, collaboration, and creativity. They will learn to approach real-world problems with curiosity and ingenuity, applying technological tools in ways that are meaningful and impactful. Teachers and departments will collaborate closely to guide and support project-based learning, ensuring that every stage of the challenge is a learning opportunity that connects STEM knowledge with practical application.

By the end of the programme, students are expected to have developed as innovators and problem-solvers, equipped not only with technical skills but also with the confidence, creativity, and collaborative mindset needed to bring their ideas to life. The TechVation Challenge is more than a competition—it is a journey that empowers learners to invent, inspire, and make a lasting impact within the school community and beyond. The challenge will culminate in a grand Tech Exhibition on 19 March 2026.

Looking ahead, the TechVation Challenge is set to become an annual challenge, and we are excited to share the progress and accomplishments of our students as they navigate each stage of this Challenge.
