World Teachers Day: How Teachers of ICS Are Leading in Crisis

World Teachers’ Day falls on October. Annually, this day is set aside to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. The theme for this year’s celebration is: Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future.

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, ICS Ghana had no choice but to continue school remotely. In this crisis, ICS Ghana teachers have shown, as they have done so often, great leadership and innovation in ensuring that learning never stops, that no learner is left behind.

On reimagining the future, even in the midst of a pandemic here is what Teachers  of ICS Ghana had to say:

World Teachers’ Day: Solomon Essuman (Accounting and Business Studies Teacher)

Mr Essuman is an Accounting and Business Studies Teacher on the Accra campus of ICS Ghana. On reimagining the future in the time of crisis, Solomon has realised, one of the effective ways is to develop teaching methods that will make learning interesting to the Learner.

Churchill Etsey-Glory (Arts and Design Teacher)

Mr Etse is an Arts and Design teacher at ICS. He believes drawing forms the basic foundation in Arts.

Arts being a practical-based subject, Mr Etse makes sure to provide students with the needed resources to help them in their learning.

For an effective learning experience, he provides students with pre-recorded lessons videos. He also gives students the opportunity to discuss the video they have watched.

Our Teachers are arguably the most important members of the ICS Ghana community. It takes an undying passion and commitment to supporting our Learners. And it is in this spirit that ICS Ghana wishes to congratulation all teachers, especially ICS Ghana’s Teachers as the world commemorates Teachers’ Day.
