ICS GHANA TEACHERS COMMENDED FOR IMPROVED A’ LEVEL AND IGCSE RESULTS

 In 2019/2020 Academic Year

Principal of the International Community School, Mrs. Lucy Ayodo on Wednesday, August 21, commended teachers for another year of high academic and personal achievement for the school and students.

Speaking at the Pakyi No. 1 campus on staff preparation day, she commended the teachers for their continuous dedication to excellence, resulting in improved IGCSE and A’ Level results.

“We owe the brilliant results achieved to you. The increased number in distinctions attest to your commitment to academic excellence and the results from the students that passed on merit show performance quite close to distinction and that is commendable.”

As she warmly welcomed teachers to the 2019/2020 academic year, Mrs. Ayodo tasked them to demonstrate leadership to reflect the theme for the upcoming term, “See the Leader in Me”.

She emphasised the need for the teachers to embody the attributes of leadership they want to see in their students.
“Leadership must be seen in action, not just as a title. Be the leaders who provide solutions and make impact”, Mrs. Ayodo said.

Head of Senior High School at the Pakyi Campus, Mr. Samuel Appiah-Krofah commended summer school teachers for ensuring a successful summer programme, and teachers who mentored students to win the third position at this year’s National High School Entrepreneurship Competition for their dedicated service during the holidays.

He encouraged all teachers to continuously seek new ways to promote academic excellence and advised the returning teachers to provide support for the new ones.

The teachers are on campus ahead of reopening for the academic year, to set up their classrooms, meet new and returning colleagues and plan for the upcoming term.
